NYC Majority Soupy Week Expected

Good morning everyone. We find ourselves on the “wrong” side of a stationary front for the next few days before a sweeping cold front powers through. Relief is on the way in the form of a pleasantly warm Friday and a mild & comfortable weekend, but we have to wade through the soup and unsettled weather first.

For today, look for mostly cloudy skies and the slight risk of a few passing showers or sprinkles. Humidity is creeping up as dewpoints rise through the 60’s, and we’ll have actual highs in the near 80º range.

WEATHER RADAR

Throughout the next few days, disturbances will ride that stationary front, giving us periods of showers and storms. Some of those storms could be heavy, and we could also see localized flooding. High temps will wobble a bit according to the position of our front. We start off tomorrow with muggy mid 80’s, then near 80 Wednesday; and more mid 80’s ahead of our cold front Thursday. For Thursday itself, this will bring the best risk for severe weather.

Things dry out on Friday with sunshine and near 80/low 80 degree temps. Expect the slight chance of an instability shower on Saturday with 75-80º temps, then more 75-80º temps on Sunday and dry.
