NYC Morning Flash Flood Warnings

NYC Morning Flash Flood Warnings

Good morning everyone. We have heavy rain lifting northward and eventually away from the New York City area, but the damage is done as far as the ground being oversaturated due to copious amounts of rain. The heaviest and most concentrated area of heavy rain will finally move north of the area, but after a break, you can expect more scattered heavy showers. This is all thanks to Tropical Storm Ophelia’s remnants coming back from the dead after meandering off of the East Coast and was trapped due to high pressure blocking its movement.

On the bright side, we have some really nice weather coming to us for Sunday onward, after a mostly gloomy and cool Saturday. Check out the latest below…..

The heaviest rain will eventually subside and it has for parts of Long Island. Look for steady heavy rain, to be replaced by scattered heavy showers and very cool conditions today. Highs will be in the low 60’s at best.

WEATHER RADAR

AM rain tomorrow will be replaced by scattered lighter showers, but clods stick around for much of the day. Highs in the low to mid 60’s.

Things do a fast turnaround for Sunday, with sunshine, dry conditions, and highs in the mid to upper 70’s.

For the workweek, we start off with sunshine and very mild to warm conditions. While 80 may not be attainable, we could get close and/or see a scattered 80 degree hit here or there. For this reason, I’m calling for sunshine Mon-Wed with highs 75-80.

Thursday we could cool off a bit, but I’m going to hold off on that till “Zombie” Ophelia remnants pull away tomorrow.
