NYC Nasty Two Days Ahead Warm Week Coming

Good morning everyone. An organizing coastal system and subsequent high pressure blocking everything, has increased our easterly fetch. Because of this, we’re socked in with clouds and stiff, raw winds off of the ocean. However, once this clears out, we have a relatively warm week ahead, with near 80 temps possible Friday.

Look for cloudy skies today, raw easterlies, and highs in the mid to upper 60’s. Tomorrow, rain clips the area with the same amount of clouds and wind. I don’t think we’re looking at a complete washout, but expect scattered showers. During this 2-3 day period of easterlies, we can also see some minor coastal flooding and enhanced tides.

WEATHER RADAR

For Columbus Day, clouds still stick around as does that east wind. Maybe we reach 70 if there’s some sun. We dry out a bit though, and things finally begin to clear out on Tuesday. We’ll have clouds and sun Tuesday, with low to mid 70’s as highs.

We go for full sunshine on Wednesday, with mid to upper 70’s possible. I’m going conservative for now, and my 5 day graphic has 75 degrees. The same goes for Thursday, then we might see upper 70’s to near 80 on Friday depending on the sun.

That warmer air is actually in response to a cooler and more fall-like pattern coming in during or after next weekend. We’ll keep an eye out on the timing of our next system.
