NYC Nor’easter Unlikely But Still Rainy Weekend Expected
Good afternoon everyone. We continue to have a beautiful workweek and things remain dry all the way through Friday. That’s where the nice weather ends and we begin watching our next system for Saturday and Sunday. At this point, I do not see an overly strong low pressure system forming or forming fast enough to enhance the rain and wind; but we still have a rainy weekend on our hands and a decent soaking is expected.
SATELLITE
For today, we have sun mixed with clouds as the sun works the atmosphere and clouds begin to pop. It’ll be a pleasant and dry day with highs in the low to mid 60’s.
The same goes for tomorrow, but we go a tad milder. Look for more sun and clouds with highs in the mid to upper 60’s.
WEATHER RADAR
Thursday is the nicest day of the bunch as that pesky low pressure finally departs and we go even milder. We’ll have more sunshine and highs near 70 in spots.
Friday isn’t too bad and we remain dry for most of it, but we do have increasing clouds late, and a switch in the winds will cool us down. Highs will be in the near 60/low 60 range.
Rain could head in overnight Friday, but the steady stuff will mostly be on Saturday and beyond. Again, it looks as if a wave of low pressure does try and form, but it’s on the move and might develop too late to reach Nor’Easter status. Expect a rainy and raw Saturday with highs in the mid to upper 50’s; then rain continuing overnight Saturday into part of Sunday. At this point, I’m thinking a late morning/early afternoon end to the precip. Highs again in the mid to upper 50’s.
