NYC Quiet Humid Summer Weather
Good warm morning everyone. We have another summer day on the menu today, and this very warm to hot weather should stick around for the first half of the weekend; then some very temporary relief.
SATELLITE
Sunny skies rule once again today with very warm to hot conditions. Dewpoints are also starting to creep up a bit, so you may feel the difference between yesterday and today; highs in the upper 80’s to low 90’s.
Tomorrow, we tick up that humidity even more, while holding the same realm of high temps. Things will start to feel a little uncomfortable, but we won’t be in early August territory. Highs again in the upper 80’s to low 90’s, cooler at the coast with a stronger sea breeze developing compared to today.
REGIONAL RADAR
For our weekend, things are looking a little bit more simple compared to the more complicated picture I painted yesterday. Our main cold front and reinforcing front are looking generally weak and fast-moving. This will equate to a warmer day on Saturday and a clearer day on Sunday.
With less clouds and that front hanging off to our west, we’ll go for upper 80’s to low 90’s again on Saturday. It’ll be humid and we’ll have the chance of afternoon and evening storms, but we’re not looking at widespread, far-reaching, and/or wide line of storms. At this point, I see several thin lines scattered about. We’ll keep an eye on anything that develops.
For Sunday, everything makes a full pass, so that also equates to a warmer day and a sunnier one as well. Expect a warm, breezy, and dry day as the humidity shrinks; highs in the mid 80’s.
LOCAL RADAR NEW YORK CITY
We have another comfortable, dry, warm, and sunny one on Monday, then the heat and humidity start to creep back in Tuesday onward. If everything works out, we could see near 90 or 90+ by mid to late week next week.
This seems to be the building pattern at this point – more dry precip-wise compared to weeks prior, much warmer to even hot at times, and humid. There will be brief breaks like we’ll see this Sunday/Monday, then back into full summer-mode.
Summer is here folks, embrace it.
