NYC Quiet Week Ahead Some Showers Possible
Good afternoon everyone. We’re past the severe weather threat that brought numerous tornado warnings and damaging winds to parts of NJ, now we watch for more mundane conditions and nothing major to speak of. Breezy conditions and cool air will dominate today, but the rest of the week looks fairly comfortable. In the long range, April is looking wonky and disorganized; typical for a transitioning pattern with a wide range of temperatures and conditions.
SATELLITE
Cobalt blue skies and gusty winds will dominate today. It’ll feel much cooler than it is, but it’s still cool regardless of the wind with highs only in the upper 40’s to low 50’s. We dip into the 30’s overnight, but recover well tomorrow. Expect more gusty conditions, mostly sunny skies, and highs 55-60.
WEATHER RADAR
Tuesday is the best day of the bunch even though we’ll be clouding up late. The more sun, the higher we go with much lighter winds. Look for highs 65-70, but we could crack 70 in spots given enough sunshine and a friendly wind profile.
On and off showers develop on Wednesday, with humid highs in the 65-70 range again. Thursday is a repeat, then we clear things out for Friday under clouds and sun, breezy conditions, and highs in the mid to upper 50’s.
Your weekend remains looking dry, but a split decision. Sunshine and mid 50’s dominate Saturday, then we could see cloudier and raw conditions Sunday as the maritime influence sneaks in w/ 50-55 degree temps.
In the long range, this seems to be the them all month. However, I continue to look towards mid month to see if this transition-pattern slows down a bit. That could help us or hurt us depending on where it comes to a grind. Usually it doesn’t work in our favor this time of year as the Maritime influence pushes back hard, but we can’t rule out some very mild days here or there depending on the timing and positioning of fronts.
