NYC RAIN MAKES FINAL PUSH – Our last batch of rain is about to enter the area. This will most likely be our heaviest rain in the past two days. Expect a few rumbles of thunder and localized flooding in poor drainage areas in the next few hours. Everything is gone by about 2-3am and we begin the partial clearing process. Lows overnight will only get down to 50, then the sun returns for tomorrow. We’ll have sunny skies and breezy conditions, with highs in the low to mid 50’s, but dropping off over the course of the day as cooler air filters in behind the system. Lows tomorrow night will be in the mid to upper 30’s, so bundle up if you’re going to see the Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center.
Things cool off gradually as the days go by, with highs only reaching the mid 40’s by Sunday. A weak system will approach the area Sunday evening, with a slight chance of some wet snowflakes mixed with rain overnight Sunday.
