NYC Rainy Monday Ahead Cool Breezy New Years Eve

NYC Rainy Monday Ahead Cool Breezy New Years Eve

Good morning everyone. We’re enjoying our last of the sun and mild temps today before our next system begins to head in. After all is said and done, we’ll resume the status quo for this winter so far, but expect a cool and breezy New Year’s Eve at Times Square if you’re going.

SATELLITE

Expect a beautiful and dry day today, with clouds and sun and highs in the low to mid 50’s.

REGIONAL RADAR

storm free

Tomorrow, clouds increase but our temperatures do not. The position of departing high pressure, our approaching system, and lack of strong sunshine puts us at a disadvantage and we will not be repeating mild temps. High pressure will help usher in an easterly flow, and clouds will keep things in the mid 40’s.

We’ll have the slight chance of afternoon showers, but again, the bulk of the rain comes in overnight and into Monday.

LOCAL RADAR NEW YORK CITY

storm free

Monday is going to be a rainy one, and the morning commute may be an issue for those heading in on the parkways. Expect standing water and possible localized flooding in poor drainage areas, and an overall rainy and raw day with stiff easterlies. Highs Monday in the mid 40’s as well.

LOCAL RADAR PHILADELPHIA
storm free

We’ll clear out for New Year’s Eve Day and continue with mid 40’s, but a strong breeze will develop, giving us a decent wind chill. Mid 30’s should dominate New Year’s Eve at Times Square, but again, that wind chill will be an issue. We’ve had much worse as far as party-time temps in the past, but bundle up regardless with the blustery conditions.

New Years Day we are on-the-mark seasonal, with sunny skies, breezy conditions, and highs in the upper 30’s to low 40’s.
