NYC Snow Chance Increases More Mild Air Left

Good morning everyone. We’re waking up to some extra sunshine this morning after a few clusters of moderate to heavy rain moved through before sunrise this morning. That’ll help get us into the 60’s today, then we are in for a roller coaster ride temp and precip-wise.

We started off cloudy earlier, now we have a mix of sun and clouds. It’ll go cloudy again later with the chance of some more rain, but not before we see temps get into the 60-65 range. It’ll also be a breezy one ahead of that front, with wind gusts 30+ possible.

Full sunshine returns tomorrow but so does the chill. We drop into the low 40’s for highs tomorrow, then we begin watching our next system.

WEATHER RADAR

Old energy left behind in the Southeast from today’s front, will combine with a piece of energy coming out of the midwest. That’ll help bring back some moisture to the area as cold air is working in. A wave of low pressure to our south will help keep that cold air locked in place, and we should see some light snow across the area on Wednesday. The best chance to see any measurable snow will be across Suffolk County, where a trace to 2″ is possible. If areas west of Suffolk see some steady snow before cutting off, it’ll most likely be a dusting to 1/2″. Highs will be in the mid 30’s for Wednesday.

Cold air sticks around Thursday with sunshine again and upper 30’s to near 40, the milder air begins working in again for Friday. That may come with some clouds and a few showers.
