NYC Trends Cool/Chilly After 5-6 Day Pleasant Stretch

Good morning everyone. As we continue to watch Hurricane Isaias’ progress, we also take a look ahead to see what it’ll do to a pleasant pattern we have been experiencing since our powerful nor’easter. We still have some nice conditions over the next few days, so we’re not expecting any drastic changes yet. Check out the latest below…

SATELLITE

For today, we have another nice one in a string of very pleasant fall days. Look for sunshine and 70-75 degree temps. We’ll have more of the same tomorrow as we close out the workweek on a nice note.

WEATHER RADAR

Saturday is another winner albeit slightly cooler. We’ll have more sunshine, increasing clouds later in the evening, and highs in the 65-70 degree range. Look for a morning mix of sun & clouds Sunday, then rain creeping some time between late afternoon and evening. This is associated with what-will-be the remnants of Hurricane Isaias. We’ll have on and off soaking rain overnight Sunday, then scattered showers on Columbus day as those remnants are slow to clear. Highs both days a muggy 65-70.

Hurricane Isaias will upend the jet stream just enough to allow cooler to even chilly air to filter into the northern tier of the lower 48. Expect a reinforcing shot of cool air to swing in on Wednesday, but not before a few scattered showers on Tuesday ahead of that front. We’ll have one last gasp of 70’s on Tuesday, then we drop to near 60 degrees for highs on Wednesday. This will be the first shot of a couple of reinforcing fronts; and if the timing is right, we may not get out of the 50’s next weekend with some areas experiencing their first frost and freezes overnight.
