NYC Very Warm Stretch Begins Plus June Long Range Forecast
Good morning everyone and happy Saturday! We have some beautiful weather today compared to yesterday’s cloudy and stormy conditions, but we turn up the heat for 5 days before things cool down a bit. Overall we’re looking good aside from a few hiccups here and there (next weekend), and I think you’re going to like the long range for June.

We’ll keep things very simple for the immediate forecast since there’s not much going on aside from the heat. Expect mostly sunny skies today and tomorrow, with upper 80’s to low 90’s. Things will be a little bit cooler at the shore, but you’ll still get a nice early-season beach day. Be aware of the rip current risks along the south shore.
We’ll start the week like we end the weekend, with sunny skies and upper 80’s to near 90. Things will go partly sunny Tuesday and Wednesday as our next system nears the area. That’ll help cut the humidity and introduce some cooler air, but not before we have more humid upper 80’s to near 90 both Tuesday and Wednesday. Best chance to see any storms at this point will be Tuesday, but they will be scattered in nature.
Thursday we’ll begin the cool off process for a dry day and highs in the mid 80’s, then we may not get out of the 70’s on Friday. Next weekend is looking complicated so far, and we’ll hold off to see if moisture and clouds get hung up at the coast, as well as a strong maritime influence.
For your long range, next weekend will be a good example of the small “hiccups” we see this month. However, I’m taking a look at the overall pattern and the bigger picture, and I see a fairly dominant pattern of very warm and humid conditions. This will allow ocean temps to catch up to the average realm, then maybe exceed it if the very warm air holds on. Warmer ocean temps equal less of a seabreeze down the road, and will translate to a warmer NYC Metro Area overall.
It’s too far out to predict systems and storms, but if I were a betting man, I’d say when we look back at June, it will have been above average temp-wise regardless of a few cool spots here and there.
