NYC WEAK SYSTEM MOVES THROUGH OVERNIGHT
Good morning everyone and happy Sunday! We’re off to a sunny start today, but a weak system set to move through overnight will help bring the clouds back for a short period. Our workweek is looking rather quiet and innocuous till Friday, which is when our next rainy, windy, & raw episode will move through.
SATELLITE
We”ll have AM sun then PM clouds today. Highs will be on the seasonably cool/chilly side, with highs in the upper 30’s to low 40’s. Expect some scattered light rain or light snow developing overnight, but with temps above freezing, don’t expect much if anything at all. Locally and if we do get some light snow as opposed to light rain, we could see a dusting to 1/2″ on colder surfaces (cars, grass, tree branches) IF it even happens at all. Areas to our north and west have a better chance of seeing snow, and with colder temps, they could see a general coating to 1″.
We’ll start tomorrow off with some very early departing light rain or snow, then the sun will come out with highs in the low to mid 40’s.
WEATHER RADAR
Tuesday and Wednesday look like winners, with sunshine and low to mid 40’s as well. We’ll see some increasing clouds late Thursday after some AM sun, and that’s from our next system approaching.
Our next system is not a snow-friendly one with low pressure off to our west, transferring energy too close to the coast or just inland. This will give only higher elevations well upstate and upper New England some heavier snow. Onset snow is possible in central PA and western NY, then some more on the back end, but nothing on the major side. For us, expect windswept rain, heavy at times, with highs 45-50 Friday.
Rain continues overnight Friday, heavy at times, then maybe a few departing cold scattered showers Saturday AM.
