NYC WEATHER: FEELING LIKE SUMMER
RECORD TEMPERATURES THE NEXT TWO DAYS
Who cares what the calendar says! Summer is making a comeback in NYC.
Temperatures will flirt with records Tuesday and Wednesday, soaring 15-20 degrees above average. Tuesday’s record of 82 was set back in 1928, and Wednesday’s record of 83 was reached in 1963.
Expect sunny skies today, with a few more clouds tomorrow. Overnight temperatures will barely drop into the 60s — seasonal for DAYTIME temperatures — meaning Wednesday morning lows may also set new records. Temperatures will begin to come back down to earth on Thursday and Friday, still staying mild. A few waves of low pressure will pass through on Thursday and Friday, leading to a chance of showers both days. Dry weather returns for the weekend, with much cooler temperatures, in the 50s in most spots. This will be the coldest shot of air of the Autumn season so far and will probably get reinforced on Monday with a secondary shot of chilly air.
Radars remain quiet through Wednesday night but we might see some showers here on Thursday.
We are still watching a tropical system east of the Bahamas which is becoming better organized. Here are the latest satellites and weather models plus our forecast for this system.
Longer term that pattern becomes more blocky in nature which means it will be cooler than normal and perhaps wetter than average. JOESTRADAMUS has more on that.
