TOUGH NYC FORECAST AHEAD MARITIME AIR FIGHTS HARD – Good morning everyone. This cut-off low is really causing havoc with our forecast ; first with prolonged clouds and scattered periods of rain, but now interfering with the mechanics which would’ve allowed the warm air to make a big push into the area this weekend. We will see SOME warm air, but it’ll come and go as things just aren’t moving smoothly in the atmosphere.
Today, clouds, fog, and drizzle will be with us for the entire day, highs in the upper 50’s to low 60’s. Tomorrow, clouds will linger and have a tough time trying exit; morning fog possible also with highs in the low to mid 60’s. For Friday, hopefully that warm air pushes in, but clouds and possibly some morning fog will give us a slow start; highs 70-80 depending on how much sun we get and how early we break out of the funk.
Saturday, a back door front will push though at some point during the day, so on the menu will be increasing clouds and a chance of a few light showers; highs hopefully 75-80 before temps drop during the late afternoon/evening. On Sunday, we’re back in the funk with clouds and a cool maritime breeze, highs in the low to mid 60’s.
As the front wavers, drapes, and stalls over the area, we will see this pattern continue into next week until we can get this air moving again. Each day will be somewhat complicated and we’ll have to take it as it comes forecast-wise to see what side of the front we’ll be on for any given day.
