Will Stubborn Low Pressure Help Us?

Will Stubborn Low Pressure Help Us?

Good morning everyone and happy Monday. We’re into another bank of clouds today but it shouldn’t last all day. Meanwhile, another system is gathering up to bring those clouds right back tomorrow, with maybe even some localized severe weather. The big thing I’m watching is the overall pattern and how do we end this?

For today, a system bringing rain to the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast will slowly sink away and to our south. That’ll take the cloud bank with it, making for a nicer day later in the afternoon. We’ll have highs near 60 (depending on how much sun) and a gentle northerly breeze.

Tomorrow, low pressure swings through well to our north. It’ll drag a cold front through that might have just enough energy to set off some showers & thunderstorms come afternoon. Some storms, especially to our north, could have small hail and gusty winds. We’ll keep an eye on that line of showers and storms to see who gets what and when. Highs tomorrow near 60 again.

Sunshine returns Wednesday, but so does the bite in the air for this time of year. Expect a cool, breezy day with highs in the low to mid 50’s.

Thursday starts off sunny, then clouds increase with our next system and 55-60 degree temps. Look for rain to creep in overnight, and Friday morning looks very rainy. Rain will continue throughout the morning, then get spotty by late afternoon.

Saturday looks fair and breezy, then clouds increase again for Sunday with yet another system. When this one comes in, low pressure may be stubborn to leave, and/or work in tandem with another low pressure system to give us some prolonged gloom. IF this happens, it may be the mechanism we need to alter the pattern just enough to allow some mid-spring weather into our area. We’ll just have to get through a possible 3-5 day period of gloom first.

We’ll keep an eye on it all and hopefully it works out in our favor.
