BONUS HOT NYC DAY LIKELY
Good morning everyone and “watch me for the changes”. NYC may endure an extra hot one due to a slight delay in our relief, plus a change in the angle of approach for our expected cold front. This will not only change the dynamics in terms of how we cool down, but also how our Labor Day Weekend looks.
EASTERN SATELLITE
REGIONAL RADAR
For today, our hot weather begins. Expect sunny skies with increasing mugginess, highs 90-95. Low to mid 90’s continue for tomorrow, then Wednesday looks like the hottest of the bunch where May see mid to upper 90’s in spots. We’re still not looking to go for the 1948/53 records, but if some spots go into the upper 90’s, that’ll nearly match some of the hottest weather we’ve had all season.
LOCAL RADAR NEW YORK CITY
With things coming to a grind slightly and out front approaching from the NW instead of the NNE, we’ll eek out another low 90 day for Thursday. This will also increase the chance of a heavy thunderstorm in areas For Friday, we’ll adjust everything up a notch and into the low 80’s instead of upper 70’s. Then the weekend continues to be complicated.
The coolest air of this airmass comes in on Saturday instead of Friday, so look for 75-80° temps for most of the area. Unfortunately some torughiness is going to build up in the area, which may touch off a few widely scattered showers in the area. No washouts though, so keep your plans.
On Sunday, the mugginess creeps back in and we slightly increase the chance of a scattered shower or storm. Look for sun and clouds with highs 80-85. As of now, your Labor Day looks like a repeat of Sunday, except possibly some extra mid 80’s dotting the area.
