Cloudy Rainy Thundery NYC Day Today
Good morning everyone. Clouds have rolled in as a front drifts our way and the remnants of Laura help energize that front. We’ll be socked in today, but we get rewarded on the back end with a beautiful 2-3 days coming up.
SATELLITE
Expect clouds all day, with a shower popping up at any time this morning before the main batch of moisture moves in late morning/early afternoon. Rain will be heavy at times with a few gusty rumbles of thunder. Flooding in poor drainage areas may occur when the rain is coming down hard. Highs in the upper 70’s to near 80 today but muggy.
REGIONAL RADAR
Tomorrow and Monday are simply glorious, early fall-feeling days. There will be plenty of sunshine, a nice breeze, low humidity, and highs in the 75-80 realm. Overnight lows away from the City will likely dip into the 50’s, and we may even have a few 40’s reported in the higher elevations of the Catskills & Adirondacks.
LOCAL RADAR NEW YORK CITY
Tuesday will probably start off sunny, then clouds will move in as the day goes on. We’ll still be cool and comfortable with mid to upper 70’s, but warmer air will start creeping in, hence the clouds.
Wednesday will be our transition day, with clouds & sun, the chance of a few showers, increasing humidity, and highs in the low 80’s.
LOCAL RADAR PHILADELPHIA

We know at this point that Thursday and Friday are looking very warm to hot, but Labor Day Weekend is looking questionable as far as timing of the fronts and moisture along the East Coast. I think by Monday, we’ll get a much clearer picture in terms of what to expect.
Stay tuned.
