FOGGY TUESDAY REMAINDER WARM SIGNS CONTINUE NEXT WEEK

FOGGY TUESDAY REMAINDER WARM SIGNS CONTINUE NEXT WEEK – Good afternoon everyone. Fog continues to plague areas, especially along the NYC area coastline. If we can break out of this funk and we see a few peaks of sun before late afternoon, temps will rise quickly to near 60, but we will remain around 50 unless that happens. A few scattered storms will be around with the passage of this system and a strong April sun heating up the atmosphere. Things clear out tonight, with light winds, and temps remaining steady if we stay in the 50’s, or dropping into the low 50’s if we make 60 today.

Tomorrow will be a fantastic day and warmth will reach all the way to the coast with a westerly wind, but the winds will be gusty, keeping temps down a bit from their ultimate potential. That being said, we’ll still see unseasonably warm temps of 65-70 in many areas. Clouds increase tomorrow night as another system heads in. We’ll have rain by late night/early Thursday morning and it’ll come in batches throughout the period. Steady rain will be with us as you wake up Thursday morning, then a break, possibly another round Thursday night, and a period of scattered showers on Friday.

Saturday, we’ll have decreasing clouds and highs in the mid 50’s to low 60’s, then a beautiful day on Sunday, with sunny skies and 60’s. A weak warm front passes by on Monday, with sun and clouds, highs well into the 60’s and possibly 70’s depending on how much sun we get; cooler along the shore. We make the same run for Tuesday, and it could be slightly warmer depending on final wind direction; again, cooler along the shore. Areas well away from the shore, especially west and southwest of the City will flirt with and maybe surpass 80 degrees. After that, cooler air will try and fight back, but things begin to try and stabilize mid April between the 16th-19th.

Stay tuned as we fine tune this forecast and give you the best idea of what to expect when the warm air tries to push in.

Showers departed the NYC area this morning, and while most of the energy is going to our north now, we could still touch off a few scattered thundershowers before everything clears out late tonight.
