WARM DAY FOLLOWING MORNING CLOUDS HEAVY NYC RAIN THURSDAY

WARM DAY FOLLOWING MORNING CLOUDS HEAVY NYC RAIN THURSDAY – Good morning everyone! Sun has broken out in Manhattan and along areas away from the coast, helping temps rise rather quickly. Eventually, it’ll be the coast’s turn and we will see some sunshine and mild temps as well. Areas away from the immediate coast should see low 60’s and possibly upwards of 70 in some localized/notoriously warmer spots. Along the coast, we should see upper 50’s to low 60’s once the maritime influence burns off and we see some sun.

WARM DAY FOLLOWING MORNING CLOUDS HEAVY NYC RAIN THURSDAY

Tonight, clouds increase as a moisture-laden area of low pressure heads out of the Mississippi/Tennessee Valley and towards our area. A strong warm front and powerful east winds associated with a low pressure system, will combine for a nasty day tomorrow, with heavy rain and embedded thunderstorms, highs in the low to mid 50’s. Again, please be aware that the prospect of street flooding is very real due to the saturated ground and heavy rain.  The threat of scattered showers and clouds will be with us through Friday, highs again in the low to mid 50’s.

The sun returns for Saturday with decreasing clouds throughout the day, highs 55-60. After that, the warm air begins its push into the area. Sunday will be the best day of the weekend, with sunny skies and highs 65-70, slightly cooler at the coast. The springtime weather continues to roll as warm air really moves in for Monday and Tuesday, highs 70-80 depending on your proximity to the coast. We’ll have to wait to make the call for Wednesday, but it could possibly be one more warm one before a front passes though and a return to more seasonable temps.

In the long range, that stable springtime period I’ve been talking about for a couple of weeks is still on schedule and warm air looks to make a big and prolonged return for mid April. Stay tuned as we fine tune each day to give you the best forecast and accurate springtime temps possible.
