FRIDAY NYC SNOW LOOKING SOLID MODELS HOLD FOR TUESDAY – Good afternoon everyone! Bright sun has made for a warm day despite the wind for highs near 60. Everything looks to be on schedule as far as rain working its way in and changing to snow overnight. Snow continues tomorrow as I have bumped up the amounts earlier this morning to a 2-4/3-6″ scenario for much of the NYC area. Behind tomorrow’s snow, frigid air works its way in for teens overnight Friday, upper 20’s Saturday, and low 30’s for highs Sunday and Monday; teens again overnight throughout the weekend.

For Monday night and Tuesday, most models are holding on strong to the idea of a major system affecting the Northeast Corridor. Everything hangs on the timing of several ingredients, but the possibility is most certainly there. We will continue to watch the progress of these pieces without any hype, just the facts. As of now, if this system comes together is it’s being interpreted, we could have a near-historic snowstorm on our hands for someone in the Northeast, but it’s still a ways out and we need to just hang back and continue to watch. Things can fizzle out just as easily as it can trend in favor of snow. Stay tuned.
