Heavy Rain Returns to NYC Tomorrow

Good morning everyone. The Northeast is enjoying a quiet day as our active pattern resets to the west and southwest. Meanwhile and as expected/discussed, heavy thunderstorms w/ copious amounts of rain are stretched across eastern Texas and eastward into the Gulf States.
While there are no severe thunderstorm watches at the moment, we’re watching two clusters of storms bring isolated severe weather to parts of Texas and Mississippi. We’ll watch that threat grow and spread from Texas into Arkansas; and from Mississippi into Alabama and Georgia. At minimum, flood watches are posted across the region to reflect the movement of our storms, but be prepared for some embedded severe weather. The biggest threat remains damaging winds and large hail, but we could also see some isolated tornadoes.
Rain heads back into the Ohio River Valley and Northeast overnight through tomorrow from west to east, and nYC is expected another bout of heavy rain and strong winds. Winds winds be on the increase throughout the day tomorrow and peak overnight into Sunday. For this reason, gale watches have been posted around coastal CT, NYC, and Long Island.

Looks for sun & clouds today, light winds, and fairly comfortable with highs in the low 50’s. Clouds begin to increase tonight, but rain holds off till tomorrow.
WEATHER RADAR
Rain should be here in the NYC area by late morning/early afternoon. Highs near 50 will feel raw, and rain will be heavy at times; especially towards nighttime. Rain continues Sunday morning, then we switch to scattered showers. Highs near 50 will happen early, then we begin to drop before sunset. If there’s any leftover moisture as cold air moves in, any leftover rain showers or sprinkles could end as some wet flurries.
Monday looks quiet but breezy, with sunshine and highs near 50 again. Tuesday we begin to modify with more sunshine and mid 50’s w/ lighter winds.
