Henri Becomes Annoying Hot Weather Begins Tomorrow
Good morning everyone. Hurricane/Tropical Storm Henri brought a wide variety of severe weather conditions to the Northeast yesterday, ranging from wind damage and power outages out on the Forks of Long Island, downed trees in CT and RI, to widespread flash flooding in NJ and the NYC area. Today Henri is just a shell of its former self, but the rain continues to be an issue as he pulls away very slowly. Right now he continues to spin away in the lower Hudson Valley, and that’ll send our way several spokes of energy throughout the day.
SATELLITE
For today, expect cloudy skies and a soaking rain this morning. We’ll see that band push across Long Island, with a mix of sun and clouds behind it later this morning/afternoon. The sun working the atmosphere and Henri still influencing the area, will spark off a few thin lines of showers and storms. For those who do see the action, look for heavy rain, gusty winds, and maybe even some hail. While not forecasted by other outlets, don’t be shocked if someone sees a brief tornado this afternoon. Highs today will be a muggy low 80’s.
WEATHER RADAR
The heat returns tomorrow and we’ll go right back into the 90’s for a “mini heatwave”. Expect sunshine and low 90’s tomorrow through Thursday, then maybe a bonus day on Friday depending on the sunshine. A cold front will swing by on Friday, giving us a pleasant weekend ahead.
Our weekend will most likely consist of a mix of sun and clouds, dry conditions, and highs in the low to mid 80’s.
