IMPORTANT AFTERNOON MODEL RUN KEEPS JOSE CLOSE – Good afternoon everyone. The latest GFS run continues to keep Tropical Storm Jose too close for comfort for the NYC metro area, Long Island, and New England.

If it continues on this path and models continue to bring it very close, hurricane and/or tropical storm watches may go up. It’s important to realize that while Jose needs to be treated with respect, especially at the immediate shore with the new moon, this is not a Sandy situation where widespread, paralyzing destruction will occur.

That being said, those who live in coastal areas, especially in areas that flood during bad Nor’easters, need to pay close attention and take action to protect property if Jose comes too close or we feel his full effects.

Contune to stay tuned for updates. We will watch it all the way to the end and tell people what to expect if Jose’s path doesn’t change, or changes for the negative/positive.
