LONG TERM NYC SPRING ARRIVES WEDNESDAY SOAKER AHEAD
LONG TERM NYC SPRING ARRIVES WEDNESDAY SOAKER AHEAD – Good morning everyone and happy spring! We have a really beautiful, normal spring day ahead and Wednesday’s soaker is going to pan out a little differently than originally expected. So hold onto your hats, because we have a normal forecast ahead.
Sunny skies and low to mid 60’s are in the works for today, which is a typical, plain vanilla, late April day. Winds turn around with the slow approach of another system, but a more westerly track just east of the Appalachians, will give us a more south/southeasterly wind than an easterly breeze (after the warm front passes). Look for increasing clouds tonight, then a cloudy day tomorrow and highs in the low to mid 60’s.
Rain creeps in tomorrow night and stays with us through Wednesday. With that westerly track, we could see a few rumbles of thunder, and instead of highs near 50 for the day, they’ll probably hover between 55-60.
Everything clears out on Thursday, and we return to low to mid 60’s all the way into next weekend. As of now, Sunday looks like the nicer of the two days as a weak disturbance could bring some showers on Saturday. Typical April temps remain dominant, and an early May gift remains on the table with some above normal temps possible if a ridge can hold together without dropping down a back-door cold front.
