MERRY CHRISTMAS NEW YORK CITY – Good morning everyone and Merry Christmas! This morning we wake up to the absolute confirmation that we missed a White Christmas by mere miles in some places, especially the Bronx and Staten Island. However, do not fret as we have a long way to go in terms of winter.
We’ll have sunny skies today and highs near 40, then a cold rain moves in tonight as low pressure drifts almost over us. Don’t be surprised to see some flakes mixed in or even all snow at the end, but it’ll be brief and shouldn’t cover the ground.
Christmas Day tomorrow will be sunny and windy, highs near 40 again, then the cold air really moves in. Look for low 30’s Tuesday, then mid to upper 20’s for the rest of the week.
As far as our snowpocalypse next weekend, I’ve been skeptical since the beginning and remain so. It was simply too far out to predict something 2 weeks out and behind two other systems. That being said, we’ll keep an eye on anything that could pop up, but each morning model run reveals something smaller and smaller; and earlier too as opposed to mid to late weekend.
