MILD DAY AHEAD COLD AIR RETURNING – Good morning everyone! We have a beautiful, mild, breezy, Tuesday unfolding, but colder air is on the march.
If you like relatively mild air in November, today is your day. We’ll have sunny skies and highs 55-60, but a breeze will make it feel slightly cooler. Clouds increase tonight as a system approaches, and we’ll have the chance of some rain late night into early tomorrow morning. Highs continue to look to reach the low 50’s tomorrow, but they should drop as the day goes on and cooler air moves in behind the front.
Thanksgiving Day remains looking seasonably cool, with highs in the low 40’s, maybe 45 max. We’re into the upper 40’s Friday, then 50’s Saturday with another system.
Colder air moves in on Sunday, with 40’s once again, then the core of the colder air is over us on Monday as we might not make it out of the 30’s in some areas. We’ll have to wait and see how that air modifies as it makes its way down from the Great Lakes.
The cold air will be short-lived, but so are any warm ups with this very fast moving pattern. Look for 2-3 day shots of unseasonably cool/cold air, then 2-3 day shots of normal/slightly above normal air. In the end, the gears of late fall and our transition into early winter are turning, but no major systems are on the immediate horizon to complete the feel of it.
