MIXED HOLIDAY WEEKEND BRINGS SEASONAL BUT NOT BEACH WEATHER

Good morning everyone. We’re off on the right foot as we near our Memorial Day weekend, but beach conditions won’t be ideal for those who love going down to the beach for the start of the season. Conditions will vary between sunshine, clouds, and near-seasonal conditions, but our stubborn easterly flow will make for locally cool conditions at the beaches and some rough surf/riptides.

Today we have more sun than clouds and highs 65-70. Thats cool to slightly cooler than average, but at least the gloom factor never got that bad this week.

Tomorrow we warm up slightly, but with more clouds than sun and the slight chance of a shower. Highs may make it to near 70 in most spots except for the immediate shore.

REGIONAL RADAR

Saturday looks to be the only bad one in the bunch, with that day put aside to get all of this out of here. That’ll equate to a cloudy day with the chance of showers. Highs may make it to the low 70’s, but it won’t be such a great day overall.

Skies brighten up on Sunday with 70 degree weather, but again, it’ll be in the 60’s at your local beaches with colder than average water temps as well.

Memorial Day itself on Monday is looking like the best of the bunch, with low 70’s expected everywhere except the beaches; with 60’s again at the local shores.

LOCAL RADAR NEW YORK CITY

If the maritime flow can relax a bit, mid 70’s+ may take hold Tuesday through next Sunday, but we’ll wait and see on that. Overall, the pattern remains active, yet moving very slow feature-wise.
