MOSTLY CLOUDY HUMID NYC DAY PRECEDES NIGHTTIME RAIN – Good Sunday morning everyone. Everything remains on schedule and our cool-down continues to look like a slow, sloppy process over the next two days. As stated yesterday, our stationary front has sunk to our south, which would give us more rain overnight last night than the rainy day previously expected today. What this means for us is a fairly dry day rain-wise, seasonable temps but very humid, clouds and sun, and highs in the low 80’s.
Rain and thunderstorms return this evening as another wave approaches. We’ll have similar conditions as late last night, with torrential downpours and a few rumbles of thunder. For tomorrow, we cool off little bit more, but the humidity will still linger. We’ll have a chance of showers, especially in the morning, then a slight chance of widely scattered showers until Tuesday morning. Highs Monday will be in the upper 70’s to maybe near 80.
This cool off will be short-lived, with low humidity and seasonable temps Tuesday and Wednesday, but heat and humidity return for Thursday and Friday, with temps in the mid to upper 80’s. In the long range, I think we’re looking at a volatile period brewing, with short cool periods and short warm and humid periods.
