NICE WEEKEND AHEAD ALTHOUGH FLUCTUATIONS CONTINUE
NICE WEEKEND AHEAD ALTHOUGH FLUCTUATIONS CONTINUE – Good morning everyone and welcome back after a beautiful Independence Day weather-wise. Today, the beautiful weather continues, with partly to mostly sunny skies, and highs in the low to mid 80’s. Clouds increase tonight as a system begins to enter the picture, and we’ll actually find ourselves in cool quadrant of this system for the time being. For tomorrow, we’ll have clouds and a slight chance of showers and storms. A light east wind will keep us cool but muggy, highs in the mid to upper 70’s.
Overnight tomorrow, the main batch of precip will start to drift over the NYC area, brining us an increased chance of showers and storms. This will continue into Friday morning, before becoming more widely scattered in nature. Partial clearing will ensue Friday afternoon, and we’ll have a humid day in the low 80’s. Everything clears out over the weekend, making for a beautiful, sunny, and somewhat drier Saturday, Sunday, and Monday: sunny with highs in the low to mid 80’s.
Essentially, the theme for the NYC area is seasonable. These fast moving periods of humid, then dry weather, looks to continue. As of now, that heat building in the midwest looks to have a hard time making it our way in an extended period form; so look for seasonable temps to continue, a warmer than normal day here and there, but these fast moving systems will give us short-lived humid periods and short-lived dry periods. The “Summer For Everybody” continues here in the Northeast as the Midwest bakes in a virtual pizza oven.
As far as the marine forecast is concerned, it’s looking a little sloppy off shore with the east wind creating a decent ground swell for the week. Expect rough conditions in inlets, but pretty comfortable in the bays if you can get away from the boat traffic. Water looks to lay down on Sunday with a NW wind, allowing smaller boats to venture out into nearshore areas of the ocean in search for Blues, Stripers, and bigger Fluke/Seabass by any structure.
Satellite View
NICE WEEKEND AHEAD ALTHOUGH FLUCTUATIONS CONTINUE – Nice, quiet day today, but the satellite clearly shows tomorrow night’s/Friday’s system brewing in the Mississippi Valley.
Northeast Radar
Radar is quiet aside from some echoes in the Mid-Atlantic. Things will get busier though tomorrow night with a large area of showers and storms entering our area and giving us a decent shot at some soaking rain.
