NYC Breezy Chilly Day Today Then Rainy Saturday Ahead
Good morning everyone. Our mild’ish air is gone for now, replaced with breezy and chilly conditions. This is a clear reminder that winter is not over yet and there is still plenty of cold or chilly air left in Old Man Winter’s lungs, but we are still trending in a positive direction and things are definitely more quiet.
SATELLITE
Sunny skies dominate today, but that wind will help keep things feeling very chilly. Look for highs in the low to mid 40’s. You may even wake up to temps in the upper 40’s, but they’ll sink quickly into those low to mid 40’s as the day goes on. Winds will be in the 15-20 mph range, with gusts to near 30 at times.
F5 WEATHER RADARS
Tomorrow is another one in the low to mid 40’s under sunshine, but the winds will start to subside. Clouds will begin to creep in overnight, and we could get a little bit of a brief wintry mix in spots; especially N&W of the NYC area, but it all goes to rain on Saturday. This area of moisture is coming in from the Gulf States and up the Tennessee Valley, so there’s too much warm air aloft to really make this a problem.
Periods of rain continue throughout Saturday, but there will be no risk for a messy Saturday in terms of wintry precip. Highs in the upper 40’s to near 50 will assure that, and we’ll continue to melt the snow from the past month or so.
Sunday doesn’t look as clear cut as some would like it as some clouds and energy lag behind our departing system. Expect more clouds than sun, the chance of some widely scattered showers, and highs near 50.
