NYC Chilly Weather Settles Across Northeast
Good morning everyone. Things are a bit chilly out, and we’re going to remain that way for a 2 day stint, then modify thanks to our next system. We’re not done with the chilly air though, and it makes a big return on Tuesday behind the next front. We’re still keeping an eye on Thanksgiving Weekend, but things remain looking piece-meal. This would mean our weather locally may not be impacted directly, but watch out where you’re traveling in terms of flights/delays.
SATELLITE
Sunshine, a stiff breeze, and highs in the mdi to upper 40’s will be the best we do today. We’ll remain chilly tomorrow with mid to upper 40 again, but winds will go very light and switch to a more southerly flow. That southerly flow is with the approach of our next cold front.
Look for AM sunshine Sunday, then increasing clouds. Highs will be in the mid to upper 50’s.
WEATHER RADAR
Rain will head in late Sunday night and stick around till late Monday AM/early afternoon. We’ll see some clearing late, and highs will be in the mid 50’s early. Winds will pick up, and we go unseasonably cold (relatively speaking) for Tuesday. Expect blustery conditions and highs only in the near 40/low 40 range.
For Thanksgiving Day itself, the forecast holds with breezy conditions and highs in the upper 40’s to near 50. We’re still watching everything around it as far as travel impacts, but right now things have backed off a bit in terms of 1 big system. If I were a betting man, our ingredients not coming together will probably mean some rain/snow possibilities in upper New England if you’re traveling there; and another chance for some rain next Sunday or Monday locally. Areas upstate may see some light snow or mix. Stay tuned and we will hone in on any travel impacts for the holiday weekend, but again, Thanksgiving itself is fine here in the NYC Metro.
