NYC Pre Thanksgiving Travel Gets All Clear

Good morning everyone. We have some good news and not much bad news for our upcoming week. The only big story we’ll be dealing with, is some very cold air moving in tomorrow and paying a visit through Wednesday; which also helps give Thanksgiving Day a clear path to a fairly nice day.

Look for increasing clouds today ahead of our next cold front, then rain moving in some time between 9pm and 1am. Highs will be a cloudy low to mid 50’s.

Rain sticks around till early tomorrow morning, then partial clearing will ensue. The wind will also begin to pick up, and highs will happen very early tomorrow. Expect low 50’s dropping through the 40’s through the day, then we go upper 20’s to near 30 for lows overnight.

WEATHER RADAR

Unseasonably chilly air and blustery winds grip our area for Tuesday, and full sunshine will only get us to the low 40’s at best. It’ll feel like the 30’s with our windchills make sure you bundle up.

We’ll back off on the winds on Wednesday and modify the temps a bit. Sunshine continues with highs in the upper 40’s.

Thanksgiving Day looks great with no major systems around. That’ll help back off on the previously windy forecast, and also help us get to mid 50’s instead of low 50’s.

Without any major systems around, all the ingredients we were looking at last week, come through in pieces. Tomorrow was our first piece, and Friday is our next. We’ll have a reinforcing shot of cold air moving in, and that’ll give us some showery conditions Friday but nothing major.

What will be felt as far as impact is concerned, will be a blustery and very chilly rest of the holiday weekend. Expect low 40’s to return and cold wind chills for Saturday & Sunday, but the travel aspect is no longer an issue.
