NYC CLOUDY SKIES WEEKEND RAIN RETURNS – Good foggy morning everyone. The lamented easterly flow has returned to New York City and so has the cooler weather, plus the usual risk of showers this weekend. Fog will give way to clouds and sun, but the east/southeasterly flow will keep temps getting much beyond the low to mid 70’s, cooler at the shore. For tonight, clouds roll back in and we drop into the 50’s as we set up another round of scattered showers.

You don’t have to be a Meteorologist to figure out what’s going to happen on my birthday tomorrow. May 31st is a notorious date in weather history. If houses aren’t being sucked up be tornadoes, trees blown flat by straight-line winds, or cars turned into dimpled golf balls by hail, then usually it’s cloudy, showery, and fall-like. Since we won’t have any severe weather tomorrow, expect clouds, scattered afternoon showers, and highs 65-70 in most areas. Just for an extra kick in the groin, we may have a cool rumble of thunder.

Friday’s looking much warmer (of course), but the chance of showers remain with Alberto’s broken up remnants to our west; highs in the upper 70’s to low 80’s. The threat of showers remain throughout the weekend, with mid to upper 70’s on Saturday and widely scattered showers; then upper 60’s Sunday and widely scattered showers. No rainouts, but not beach weather either. More like movies, shopping, or sipping on Manhattan Clam chowder under a covered porch. (make sure you do so with oyster crackers)
