NYC Cold Breezy Day Today Plus Tuesday’s System Comes Into Better Focus

Good morning folks, we’re going to keep things short and simple today since it’s a Sunday and late week’s forecast is questionable. Meanwhile, Tuesday’s system remains on its destiny I saw in my head, but now the models are confirming it.

Today is going to be a cold one, especially with those wind chills. Stiff winds and gusty conditions continue to stick around, and things won’t subside until later tonight/tomorrow. Expect highs in the low to mid 30’s.

Tomorrow we’ll have some AM sun, then increasing clouds slowly. That’s in conjunction with our system heading in overnight tomorrow into Tuesday. Highs tomorrow in the upper 30’s to near 40.

For Tuesday, we may see some light snow in the area if the system doesn’t dry out getting here. We’ll keep an eye on the radar and that’s pretty much the best we can do at this point. We may also see some mixing with rain and sleet, especially on the south shore of Long Island and Coastal NJ.

If precipitation makes it to the area and there’s no changeover, expect a dusting to an inch or two max; and that’s on the extreme end. If there’s mixing, that’ll lower the amounts to a dusting or so, then washed away. Again, we’ll keep an eye on the radar because there remains a chance we see nothing or just some flurries/sprinkles.

Wednesday looks like we’ll have some early sun, then increasing clouds with our next system. The jury is still out on the next one, and it all hangs on how high pressure builds in behind Tuesday’s system.

Stay tuned and we’ll fine tune everything.
