NYC COMFORTABLE WEATHER COMING
After a tough night last night for many folks in the NYC Metro Area, especially Long Island, I’m sure many are looking forward to a reprieve and comfortable weather to clean up. When our slow moving front passes through this morning, look for some nice weather to filter in before some humidity begins to return midweek.
SATELLITE
Expect some scattered light morning showers and sprinkles across that area as we bring that front through late morning/early afternoon. Clearing will ensue, and we should even have a nice sunset this evening. Highs today in the upper 70’s to near 80 with dropping humidity as the day wears on.
REGIONAL RADAR
Right now, Saturday looks to be the best day of the weekend, but Sunday’s not atrocious either. Look for full sunshine on Saturday, a steady northerly flow, comfortable with low humidity, and highs in the upper 70’s to near 80.
On Sunday, high pressure drifts away, giving us a maritime flow and a very slight chance of afternoon showers. I personally wouldn’t cancel any plans, but expect sun and clouds, slight chance of a shower, and highs in the mid 70’s.
LOCAL RADAR NEW YORK CITY
We should clear things out on Monday while keeping things comfortable and in the mid 70’s, then a warmer airmass begins to try and work in during a transition day on Tuesday.
Slightly below average temps are still possible on Tuesday with upper 70’s, but the humidity begins to increase once again.
By mid-week, it looks as if we’re back in the 80’s again, and we could see low to mid 80’s Wednesday, then mid to upper 80’s both Thursday and Friday if things work out front-wise.
LOCAL RADAR PHILADELPHIA
By the end of August, our average high sinks to near 80, then upper 70’s to start September; so we’re on that downward trend. However, don’t be surprised to see these spikes well into the 80’s ahead of these fronts.
The gears of September are definitely turning as we see some invasions of cooler air, but don’t think for a second that there’s no very warm air left. This time of year is notorious for wild swings in either direction.
