NYC Continued Long Range Outlook
Good afternoon everyone. We continue to watch the movement of cold air, and we have some over us for the time being today. Unseasonably chilly conditions have settled over us, and we will be about 10 degrees below average for a one-time-only deal today before a slow moderation tomorrow.
We have a fairly quiet workweek ahead, then we watch for our next system arriving late week/early next weekend. That’ll bring another chance for some unseasonably cold air, and maybe even some lake effect snow for parts of the Northeast.
After that, things will modify again, then we begin watching Thanksgiving Weekend very carefully for possibly a more important opportunity for cold air. This one involves a two-part deal it looks like, with our main system ushering in chilly air, then possibly a clipper-like system reinforcing it. This could also bring a taste of some Holiday snow into parts of the Northeast.
SATELLITE
For today, it’ll be a sunny, quiet, and chilly one. Highs today will only reach the mid 40’s then we dip into the 30-35 realm overnight. Areas away from the City will experience widespread upper 20’s.
WEATHER RADAR
Our workweek starts sunny and quiet, with modifying temps in the near 50 range. Temps modify even further and back to average for mid 50’s both Tuesday and Wednesday.
Thursday is milder as our next system nears, but not near enough to block the sun yet. Look for highs near 60 for a perfect mid-November day. Clouds will increase on Friday with the chance of some late rain. Highs in the 60-65 range depending on the clouds and timing of rain.
Next weekend looks like a split decision, with partial clearing some time on Saturday and a developing breeze. I think the cooler air is delayed and we should be able to peak in the mid to upper 50’s at least early in the day. Sunday looks like a chiller day, with highs 45-50 depending on where that core of cool air is. We’ll watch that closely to hone in on the timing of that chillier air.
