NYC COOL AIR WINS TOMORROW LONG TRANSITION AHEAD – Good afternoon everyone! Sad news today as the signs continue to back the fact that warmer air will not be able to push far enough north to give us a nice warm day tomorrow. We’ve been talking about this prospect for a week now, and it looks as if the front will stall over or near our area, giving us clouds and widely scattered showers tomorrow afternoon; highs 55-60 with a cool, north/northeasterly breeze in the afternoon.
Clouds and showers stick around for Sunday, as will the cool air, highs in the mid 40’s. Another system approaches for Monday and we’ll find ourselves in the warm sector of this one; however, clouds and rain again will be in the area, with temps 55-60 in most places. Waves of energy continue to transit the area, with more clouds and widely scattered showers Tuesday, highs 55-60.
On Wednesday, we have a shot at drying out a bit, with partial clearing, clouds and sun, and highs in the upper 50’s to low 60’s depending on how much sun we get. Thursday we cool of slightly as winds shift with the approach of another system, sunny skies and highs in the mid 50’s. Clouds increase Thursday night and we have another shot of rain Friday.
This active pattern looks to continue well into April, but temps overall are starting to modify and I think we can put the arctic blasts behind us now. Heat will continue to build in the Midwest as the gears are in motion for possibly a nice late April/early May.
