NYC Cool Down With Halloween Rebound
10/26/24 10:28am ET
Good morning everyone. The Northeast remains quiet, although we have a 2 day cool-down on the way courtesy of a fairly dry cold front sweeping through. This means little to no precipitation in the region as drought conditions continue. 60’s will give way to 50’s and some 40’s in colder spots, then we bounce back in a big way come Wednesday and Thursday, with some mid to upper 70’s along the coastal plain.
That cold front and drop in temps will create some concerns for heavy frost and freeze conditions overnight Sunday into Monday across areas of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, and Virginia. Temperatures overnight during this cool stretch will drop below freezing in this region. If feasible, take care of your outdoor plants and crops.
Across areas of Tennessee, North Carolina, and South Carolina, the same cold front will bring some scattered showers and possible thunderstorms today and tonight. Look for brief gusty downpours and possibly a few rumbles of thunder. No severe weather is expected at this time.
We’ll also see a few more scattered tropical showers and thunderstorms across the east coast of Florida as that consistent easterly flow continues. Stubborn east/northeast breezes will help created some more popcorn showers and storms, as well as continue the enhanced tides causing minor flooding in spots.
Here is your local NYC Metro forecast –
SATELLITE
Look for a mix of sun & clouds today with temperatures in the low to mid 60’s. We cool down tomorrow with a breeze and some sunshine as highs struggle to get out of the 50’s. Lows overnight tomorrow will be in the low to mid 40’s, with 30’s away from the City.
WEATHER RADAR
Cool conditions continue on Monday with more mid to upper 50’s and very cool to cold conditions overnight. We’ll modify back into the 60’s on Tuesday with lows in the 50’s.
By Wednesday, we launch back into the mid 70’s for a very mild day; then mid to upper 70’s for Thursday.
