NYC Cool Pattern Setting In With Some Extra Help

NYC Cool Pattern Setting In With Some Extra Help

Good morning everyone. We’re watching our cool pattern settling into the area now, with possibly some extra help in the form of a cut-off low approx. a week or so down the road. This is actually the time of season where we watch for scenarios like this, and it’s quite common between May and June that this type of setup happens almost every year.

For today, we’ll have mostly sunny skies, cool conditions, and highs the low 60’s. We’ll dip into the 40-45 realm overnight for a cool/chilly one, but we’re not looking at anything extreme in the NYC Metro Area.

Mostly sunny skies pay a visit again tomorrow, with upper 50’s to low 60’s as highs.

WEATHER RADAR

Clouds begin to creep in on Wednesday for a mix of sun and clouds, and we could have the slight chance of a shower. Highs in the low to mid 60’s. Extra clouds will act as a blanket overnight, and lows are reasonable with mid to upper 40’s.

A slightly cooler flow will keep us in the upper 50’s to low 60’s both Thursday and Friday with the slight chance of a shower as well. Lows continue to hang out in the mid to upper 40’s.

Saturday and Sunday are not nice days to bring an end to April as we’ll have some extra clouds, slight chance of showers, and cool conditions. Highs will be 55-60 for Saturday, then upper 50’s to low 60’s for Sunday.

In the long range we continue to see the possibility of low pressure getting hung up in the Great Lakes region, then slowly meander around the region for several days or even a little longer. This will keep cool conditions, extra clouds, and reinforcing shots for cool air in the area as spokes of energy ride around the hub of that low.

Although its common, it’s most certainly not welcome with the doo, gloom, and unseasonably cool weather a cut-off low can bring.
