NYC DEEP SUMMER CONTINUES
NYC DEEP SUMMER CONTINUES
NYC DEEP SUMMER CONTINUES – Good morning! Deep summer in New York City continues onward as heat advisories remain up. While we are above average in terms of high temps, heat this time of year is nothing out of the ordinary. In fact, this summer as a whole has been like the “summers of old” that inspired songs like Summer in the City by The Lovin’ Spoonful and Rockaway Beach by The Ramones.
So for today, 90-95 temps continue but we add in the slight chance of a scattered storm as the juice increase and the sun works the atmosphere. Heat and humidity continue for tomorrow, with near 90/low 90 temps and we up the ante on the chance of storms from late morning onward.
Wednesday’s scattered storms marks the temporary end to oppressive humidity, but very warm temps remain. For Thursday, upper 80’s to near 90 will be widespread; however, the northwesterly flow will make things feel slightly more comfortable. We’ll also have the slight chance of a storm with the sun working the cooler air aloft in the upper atmosphere. Friday, bright sunshine returns as do 90 to low 90 temps, then we revert back to the old pattern this weekend.
For Saturday onward, tropical skies, tropical humidity, and the chance of showers and storms at any time will be on the menu. Look for mid to upper 80’s depending on the amount of sunshine/precip timing during this period. Remember, there are no wash outs expected, so keep your plans and keep an eye to the sky. Starting Saturday, we’re looking at approx. 5-7 days of this pattern.
