NYC Doom Gloom Take Over Today
Good morning everyone. Doom, gloom, and raw conditions have returned as the maritime influence pushes back hard. However, it won’t last long as our approaching cold front pushes mild air back tomorrow at the coast of some scattered PM storms. We dry out for Friday and the weekend, but mild air will be elusive this weekend. In the long range, we kept mentioning that mid-April may provide a very mild break, and it’s looking more likely that this will pan out for several days mid-week next week into next weekend (15/16).
SATELLITE
For today, expect clouds, drizzle, scattered light rain, and overall raw conditions with highs 50-55 at best. Milder and more humid air move in tomorrow ahead of our cold front.
Clouds will stick round, but we could see a few blue breaks. Highs in the low 70’s to upper 70’s depending on your location and wind profile, will add enough fuel to the atmosphere for a few scattered strong storms tomorrow late afternoon/evening. Not everyone will see storms, but for those who do, look for locally strong to severe conditions.
WEATHER RADAR
We clear out Friday with sunshine, a stiff breeze, and highs near 60. We go a little bit cooler on Saturday with mid 50’s, then we pop back up to near 60 on Sunday with more sunshine.
In the long range, some time between next Tue/Wed, a ridge will try and build as a stretched out system hangs back towards the Midwest/Rockies. That’ll grind the pattern to a halt and give us a chance of some mild temps. As of now we won’t go into exact temps , but 70-80 degree temps in spots might be part of the conversation as we near the dates of that stretch.
