NYC Glancing Blow From Powerful Winter Storm
Good afternoon everyone. As we’ve know for the past few days, it wasn’t in the cards for the NYC area to see anything big out of this powerful system that’ll be squeezed out off of the Virginia coast and quickly out to sea. That being said, it’s still a very impressive storm that’ll bring wide variety of weather from the Lower Plains to the East Coast; and we may still see some light snow out of this tomorrow morning through afternoon.
SATELLITE
For today, look for clouds and sun and cold conditions. We’ll have highs in the 30-35 range at best. Clouds lower and thicken overnight with 20’s across most of the area.
WEATHER RADAR
We will watch that northern fringe of snow and see how far it gets for tomorrow. As of now, look for cloudy skies and an icy feel to the air as we hover in the upper 20’s to low 30’s. We’ll have the chance of some light snow. If that northern fringe is able to grace the area, look for a dusting/trace to 2″ of snow at most.
Winds kick. up behind the system and sun returns for Tuesday. It’ll be breezy and cold with low 30’s, then we sink into the 25-30 realm for Wednesday and Thursday. We’re also still watching our next system, which could impact the area on Saturday depending on the final track and strength.
