NYC Gloom Today Taste Of Spring Tomorrow

NYC Gloom Today Taste Of Spring Tomorrow

Good morning everyone. We have stubborn gloom in the area today as expected, but the pattern will allow us a nice. spring day tomorrow. However, that same pattern rips it away from us, bringing clouds and rain back into the picture late Wednesday through Friday.

It won’t be raining all day today, but as low pressure begins to move out of the region, sun (not sunshine for us), will work the atmosphere and help touch off some scattered showers. The same low pressure is helping pull chilly air down to the surface, and we’ll be in the 45-50 range today.

Tomorrow’s a new day but the old pattern persists. Sunshine will fill the skies and we’ll actually see a lot of blue tomorrow. Light northwesterlies will help create some sinking, dry air, and we should see 60-65 throughout the entire area, even at the coast.

Clouds move back in on Wednesday with a slow moving, stretched out system off to our west. First will be the warm front, with late clouds and a slight chance of a shower Wednesday. Highs will be in the 55-60 realm.

On and off showers move in late Wednesday night and into Thursday, where we could see some heavier showers and a rumble mixed in. Looks for highs in the low to maybe mid 60’s.

We’ll see some cracks in the cloud bank on Friday, but the chance of a few scattered showers remain. Highs again in the low to maybe mid 60’s depending on sunshine.

Our entire weekend has the possibility of being a nice one IF Sunday cooperates. We know Saturday is going to be a pleasant day with some sunshine and mid 60’s, but if we can get Sunday to cooperate, the package will be complete for a nice start to May weekend-wise. Everything hangs on a bank of clouds and showers in the vicinity of our area, and if it slips far enough south, we could see some sunshine and 65-70 degree temps.
