NYC Beautiful Day Today Rainy Breezy Thursday
Good morning everyone and welcome to our latest 1 day taste of spring. Sunshine and seasonal temps pay a visit without any rain, but then we slowly go back to reality as clouds creep in tomorrow. This has been our spring pattern, and there are no immediate changes in sight. The timing though works in our favor this weekend, which I’ll discuss below.
SATELLITE
A few clouds/scattered light showers linger on the very east end of Long Island, and a few mid-level clouds over NJ, but overall we will have a nice day. Look for full sunshine in spots, clouds & sun in others, with highs in the low to mid 60’s.
REGIONAL RADAR
We should see a few blue patches early tomorrow, but then the clouds will begin to dominate as a weak warm front heads our way. That may touch off a few showers late, but nothing crazy in the works. Highs tomorrow in the mid to upper 50’s.
The trailing cold front will be our main feature Thursday, specifically later in the afternoon. It’ll be stretched out and on the weak side as well, so don’t expect any organized severe weather in the Northeast. There could be a thin line in the Mid-Atlantic, but we’ll see more of the scattered and gusty shower variety up here. Highs will be near 60, cooler at the immediate shore with a strong SSE wind component.
Morning clouds and showers linger on Friday as we still have to get low pressure up in Canada away from us. We should see some clearing by Friday afternoon, and highs should be in the low 60’s.
LOCAL RADAR NEW YORK CITY
For the first time in a while, we get 2 decent days on the weekend. Saturday remains looking like the sunnier of the two, but Sunday should be the mildest (if we see enough sun).
Expect Saturday to be your perfect spring day, with full sunshine and highs in the mid 60’s. Clouds and sun should be on the menu Sunday as we gear up for our next system, and depending on that sunshine, 70 is possible for the area. For now, we will go 65-70 depending on the sunshine.
LOCAL RADAR PHILADELPHIA
![storm free](https://radar.weather.gov/lite/N0R/DOX_loop.gif)
More rain heads back in Sunday night into Monday, and we repeat this process of any short-lived seasonal weather, followed by rain, then cool and breezy conditions.
MANY THANKS TO TROPICAL TIDBITS FOR THE USE OF MAPS
