NYC Good Sailing Weather Today Tomorrow

NYC Good Sailing Weather Today Tomorrow

Good morning everyone. Today and tomorrow in the NYC area will be perfect days for sailing if you have the means. If not, go fly a kite. A steady breeze and fairly comfortable temps will take hold until mugginess creeps in on Sunday.

SATELLITE

Look for sunny skies, dry air, and upper 70’s to low 80’s today throughout the area. However, it’ll be breezy, which will help provide power for those sails if you enjoy that kinda thing. There’s a very slight chance of a popcorn shower or storm, but most of the action, if any, will be well upstate.

Tomorrow, we slowly turn westerlies into southwesterlies, increase the temps, dial up even more sun. Highs tomorrow will be in the 80-85° realm, but cooler at the shore if those southwesterlies get here early.

REGIONAL RADAR

storm free

On Sunday, high pressure begins to drift away and pump more humidity into the region. Spokes of energy will begin to ride around the edge of our high, possibly giving us showers or storms at any point in the day. Highs are sunshine dependent and will range from a humid low 80’s to possibly upper 80’s if we max out on the sunshine.

It won’t be a total loss with some sun and warm temps, but keep in mind the possibility out there. We’ll be watching to see where everything sets up, because somebody in the Northeast could see some severe weather.

LOCAL RADAR NEW YORK CITY

On Monday, we rinse and repeat, but with a better shot at some heavy rumbles. Same thing with the wide range of temps in the 80’s, and the humidity continues.

For the moment, I’m going to hold off going ahead of Sunday and Monday, and focus on the short range with our warmth, humidity, and thunderstorm potential.
