NYC HEATWAVE BUILDING POSSIBLE COMEBACK – Good morning everyone! New York City is experiencing a beautiful and comfortable weekend, but don’t let your guard down, Very warm weather is returning in the short range, and even more heat could be on the way for a long stretch for mid-month.

So far this morning we have not a cloud in the sky. It should remain that way for pretty much the entire day, with 80-85 degree temps, low dew points, and very light winds which will turn east later on.

That easterly shift will represent the leading edge of much warmer air trying to make a return. This time around it’ll be a short return, but don’t take your eye off of the ball. Look for sunny skies and mid to upper 80’s tomorrow, but the humidity should remain bearable. For Tuesday, we introduce some mugginess into the mix, plus temps near 90 for most areas aside from the beaches. We’ll also have the slight chance of a thunderstorm, but again, most of the action will be inland.

For Wednesday through Friday, we return to slightly more comfortable weather, with sunny skies, relatively lower humidity compared to Tuesday, and highs a seasonable mid 80’s. During the weekend though, the heat tries to creep back in.

So far, the weekend and looking sunny and very warm to hot. Expect upper 80’s for next Saturday, then highs near 90 for next Sunday; with some areas possibly going into the 90’s. We start turning up the juice again for the long range, as humidity increases and the beginning of the following week is looking hot as of now. We could also be looking at 5-7 day stretch of those 90’s depending on what the maritime influence wants to do. For now, I don’t think this heatwave is looking as extreme as last week’s 100’s during the peak, but it could be as long and also too far out to make that call yet.
