NYC Heatwave Takes Hold Plus Tropical Update
Good afternoon everyone. An unexpected small/narrow band of moisture has been able to keep temps down very locally in areas seeing clouds and light showers. Otherwise to the east and west of this narrow area, you are enjoying sunshine and some heat. Heat will continue till Friday, which is when a decent cold front will slowly swing though, cooling off the weekend.
In other news, it looks like quiet-time in the tropics will trend towards being more active in the next 10-12 days. According to the latest EURO and GFS models, both sending a hurricane too-close-for-comfort in terms of proximity to the East Coast. However, it is important to know that as of now, we have no tropical storms or hurricanes that exist. We have a wave off of Africa that is likely to become a tropical depression over the next few days. Because it is off of Africa, so much can happen in between as far as a front picking it up, or the disturbance entering an unfriendly environment for development or survival.
We will watch very closely to see what happens, but it’s simply too far away to predict anything with accuracy.

Expect full sunshine tomorrow with no localized hiccups. Highs will be in the low 90’s. Low 90’s continue Wednesday and Thursday with very humid conditions, but we stay dry rain-wise.
Fridays when we’ll be watching out for scattered heavy showers and storms. For now, look for humid mid 80’s, but if rain holds off and we get some extra sunshine, we could see some upper 80’s to near 90. If this happens, it’ll also add fuel to the fire in terms of severe weather prospects.
Clouds and scattered showers could stick around for part of Saturday, but it’ll be cooler with highs in the near 80/low 80 range. Look for a mix of sun and clouds on Sunday with pleasant conditions and highs in the upper 70’s to near 80.
