NYC Heavy Rain On Schedule For Christmas Eve
Good morning everyone. We have a quiet day today and Wednesday, before windy conditions and mild air move in ahead of our strong cold front on Christmas Eve day. Meanwhile, if you didn’t notice, we are having some technical difficulties with some of the maps loading. This is a coding issue that we are currently taking care of and should have it straightened out in the next week or so.
SATELLITE
Morning clouds and sprinkles this morning will give way to afternoon sun and generally a nice day overall. Expect highs in the chilly low 40’s.
REGIONAL RADAR
Sunshine continues tomorrow for the nicest day of the week, and we should hit the mid 40’s throughout the area.
Clouds will begin to increase overnight tomorrow and into Thursday morning ahead of our strong cold front. We could see a widely scattered shower here or there from noon onward, but most of the day looks dry, windy, and very mild. Expect highs in the 55-60 range.
On & off heavy rain moves in for the evening/overnight hours, and we could even hear a few rumbles of thunder. It’s looking less and less that any moisture will be leftover once the cold air heads in, so the chance of any snow or mixing is very small for the NYC area.
Christmas Day starts out cloudy with a few leftover AM showers, then things will dry and and temps will drop from the mid 40’s into the 30’s. Maybe there will be a flurry or two, but don’t get your hopes up.
LOCAL RADAR NEW YORK CITY
Your weekend looks sunny and cold, with Saturday being the colder of the two days. Look for sunny skies, breezy conditions, and upper 20’s to low 30’s for highs.
Sunday looks a little more tame with mid 30’s and lighter winds.
