NYC Hot to Very Hot Weather Continues Through Thursday
Good morning everyone. Our “bonus” day of very hot weather is here, but we have some more “bonus” to speak of in terms of hot to very hot weather in the immediate forecast. Showers and storms that were supposed to pay a visit tomorrow and “sink” our temps back down into the upper 80’s, will be delayed long enough to give us another 90 degree day tomorrow. Thursday was expected to be a hot one in the 90’s, so nothing has changed there, but we will have now strung along 90-95+ degree conditions for what will be 6 days in a row.
SATELLITE
For today, look for more sun than clouds, very hot conditions, slightly less humid, and highs in the low to mid 90’s. With not much wind to speak of, we could see 90 along the shores as well.
Humidity returns tomorrow and the air has enough juice to spark some storms. However, most of the action will pass by to our north, and the best chance will be overnight and into Thursday. This will allow temps to pop back into the low 90’s, and tomorrow will be more uncomfortable than today with those muggy conditions.
REGIONAL RADAR
We’ll have another chance of some PM storms on Thursday, but that won’t hold down the temps. Expect another muggy day in the low to mid 90’s, but we’ll get a brief break coming for Friday & Saturday.
Humidity will become more tolerable on Friday and we’ll go for low to mid 80’s under full sunshine.
LOCAL RADAR NEW YORK CITY
Our weekend is looking fairly nice considering the very hot weather we’ve been having. Summer isn’t going anywhere, but we’ll have a seasonal day in the mid 80’s on Saturday. Then humidity creeps up a bit on Sunday with upper 80’s as highs.
LOCAL RADAR PHILADELPHIA
In the long range, we are not done with 90’s by a long shot, and I still see the opportunity for a couple of 3-5 day blocks of 90-95+ degree conditions down the road. We are in deep summer mode here, and even our “relief” periods are short with a return to only average/slightly above average temps.
Typically when we get these hot summers, you’ll get a day or two of 75-80 degree weather and a cool Canadian NW breeze, but I simply do not see that on the table right now or anytime soon.
