NYC INDEPENDANCE DAY 2018 FORECAST
NYC INDEPENDANCE DAY 2018 FORECAST – Good morning everyone and Happy 4th of July in New York City! Morning clouds and some patchy fog have graced us once again as the moisture content hangs strong in our region, but don’t be fooled as another hot one is expected.
For our Independence Day today, expect the morning clouds and fog to give way to clouds and sun. It’ll be hazy, hot, and humid, with the slight chance of a thunderstorm, highs in the upper 80’s to low 90’s. As stated yesterday with these storms, most of them will be concentrated just inland, but be prepared for a few stray pop-ups, or weakening ones which drift over our area. For the most part though, they shouldn’t impact the fireworks celebration in NYC.
Tomorrow, we bring back the morning low clouds and patchy fog; then partial clearing again and highs in the upper 80’s to near 90.
The timing on Friday’s front continues to play some games. It’s looking more and more as if we could get the precip started a little earlier than previously expected. If so, this may lower the risk of severe weather, but if we get a break with some sun, it’ll blow up quickly and we could be back in the spotlight.
Look for increasing clouds Friday night, then a chance of showers and storms by daybreak. Friday remains cloudy, warm, and humid, with widespread showers and storms. As of now and unless anything severe pops up, the biggest risk with any storms will be torrential rain, local flooding, and gusty winds.
Saturday remains looking sunny, breezy, and comfortable; highs 75-80. We warm up a bit on Sunday, but remain comfortable; highs 80-85.
Have a safe and happy holiday everyone!
